Plot Summary

With the opening song (What’s On The Gigglebox?) we join the Parker family for an evening glued to the screen by a riveting schedule of TV shows, all of which have one thing in common…school! There’s edge-of-your-seats drama, devilishly-difficult quizzes, calamitous cooking challenges, tortuous talent searches, make-over madness…and much more! With giggles galore, these televisual treats go to prove just what a fun-filled place school really is, and why the memories we make there last forever!

First up is the medical drama ‘Playtime Casualty’. Hoping for fifteen minutes’ respite during morning break, the staff are inundated with children suffering from assorted ailments and injuries. Luckily, there’s a tried-and-tested remedy that is perfect for any medical emergency in a primary school! Song – Stick An Ice-Pack On It

Next for our viewing pleasure is ‘Our School’s Got Talent’, in which four auditionees give it their best shot, hoping to secure a much-coveted place in the school choir. Can they impress the judges with their performances of our favourite school assembly classics, or will they fall foul of some harsh criticism? Song – A Place In The Choir

No viewing schedule would be complete without a baking challenge. In our next programme, ‘Primary School Cake Off’, which of our three cooks can rustle up a sweet treat that is tasty enough not only to tempt the dashing Phil Hollytree, but also to be offered as first prize in the raffle at the school fete? Song – The Cake Song

When items around school get worn out or go past their best-before date, where do you take them? That’s right, to caretaker Mike Mendit’s ‘Repair Shed’. His challenge in this episode, however, might prove too difficult even for his skilled hands, as he is faced with a teacher completely devastated by the condition of her most beloved and precious possession! Song – My Pritt Stick

With questions all about his favourite subject, school, host Dudley Nightshade tries to trip-up three children in ‘Brainless’, a quiz with a twist that will test the keenest of young minds! Those that fail to make the grade will face some severe consequences!

Next up is ‘Supervisors’, an action-packed, fast-paced documentary, following an elite team of crime-prevention specialists during their lunchtime patrol. The playground and the field can be a tough environment, but these ladies are a formidable force, more than a match for the young delinquents they encounter! Song – The Lunchtime Frontline

On ‘Strictly Fun Dancing Goes Back To School’ it’s audience participation week! Who will be the lucky ones chosen to strut their stuff in front of friends and families? Well, that’s entirely up to you!

‘Assembly Time’ brings the evening’s entertainment to an emotional close. Headteacher, Miss Conduct, offers some calming and reflective thoughts to the viewing audience, commemorating the highlights of the school year and bidding a fond farewell to those who are moving on. Song – The Memories Shine
