Below is just a tiny selection of the overwhelming feedback we have received to date from children, teachers and parents, in the UK and around the world.
‘Just thought I'd let you know that our show was AMAZING!!!! Pupils, parents, staff and visitors LOVED it and I have had so much positive feedback. Thanks so much for all your help.’
Magdalena Black, Bathgate
‘I am writing to let you know that my school has just performed Puss In Boots. The children have loved learning the songs and thoroughly enjoyed performing it to parents/carers last night. Thank you for such wonderful music; we'll have a go at Dick Whittington next year!’
Abigail Thorlby, Derbyshire
‘Wow! What a great service - so prompt. You have just saved me hours this evening. Truly appreciated. Fab material - as we begin exploring the script my Year 6 children are so inspired.’
Vicky Harpin, York
‘Another great show! I have enjoyed putting on so many of your productions over the years - they are always so well -received.’
Sandra Sutherland, Warwick
‘I felt I must write and tell you how successful one of your productions was this week. My year 6 children performed School Daze for the school and parents on Thursday. Everyone thought it was fantastic and a lot of that was down to your music and script ideas. I thank you very much for a brilliant piece of work.’
Janette Bilson, Surrey
‘I loved the script and songs as they were entertaining and very funny. Another bonus was that I was able to 'eek' out 32 speaking parts for the children. This was very handy as I didn't end up with lots of children sitting around bored whilst the rest rehearsed. The stage directions, sound effects and character descriptions were also very useful. The children that watched the show (pre-school and younger siblings) enjoyed watching a traditional tale that they were familiar with, whilst the adults roared with laughter at the very funny punch lines. Thank you very much for being so helpful in the planning stages. We will definitely be in touch next year!’
Laura Coleman, Devon
‘What a fantastic show! The audience were enthralled, totally quiet between enormous bursts of laughter, and the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The feedback was the most positive I have ever received, including `The best Y6 show ever`. Thank you for a fabulous script - what do you have for next year?!’
Lyn Penfold, London
“My daughter left Primary School in July and I would just like to say I cried my heart out, as did many others. Brilliant play and excellent songs. Thank you.”
Rachel Mayhew, a very emotional parent
"WICKED! What a brilliant end to the primary school days of our Year 6….Well done Andrew for producing a highly amusing show much enjoyed by all other pupils, staff and families alike."
Caroline Walsh
"The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The evening performance for parents and friends was much appreciated - I think some of the adults were reliving their school days!"
Susan Blezard, Lancs
"I felt compelled to write and thank you for your excellent musical. The audience were ecstatic! Several members of staff were moved to tears, and at the end, the headteacher, who was crying with laughter, told parents that it was a 'scarily accurate portrayal of life in a primary school!' More important than that, the children enjoyed themselves. The characters were real, lively and easy to relate to, and the songs excellent! They brought the house down!"
Alison Currah
"Our performances went brilliantly - and it was declared the best ever Year 6 production!!”
Margaret Carr, Lancaster
"Teachers laughed so much they were nearly crying…I’ve been a teacher and a mum for 20 years and I have never seen anything as funny or true to life as this."
Chris Treggiden, Cornwall
"I just had to let you know that everyone concerned thought that it was the best show they had seen. I can't remember the last time our teachers cried with laughter! All involved thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the School Nurse has adopted "Nits Blues" as her signature tune! Thanks for putting a smile on our faces."
Karen Lewis - Merthyr Tydfil
"I have enjoyed every rehearsal so far and will do in the future. I know for a fact that everyone will need a tissue on the day we perform it. On the very last song in the rehearsals I nearly cried, so what am I going to be like when we present it! I want to stay in primary school for ever!"
H Green - yr6 pupil
"Both adults and children found the whole production fantastic, brilliant. We could have filled the school hall many times. The feedback from the parents was very, very positive. The children really enjoyed the content and the adults could relate to the incidents mentioned."
Dorothy Black - Perth and Kinross
"Just to say a huge thank you for producing such a wonderful script. Today's Leavers Assembly went really well, people were laughing, crying and even both together. We have set ourselves a very high standard, so I do hope you will be writing more for leavers. It is just what we want. Thanks again, it was fantastic."
Pam Fox, Stockport
"I must congratulate you again for a fantastic musical that had our audiences (and the performing children at times) crying with every emotion possible. I particularly love the way you weave from energetic highs to truly poignant moments ('Wonderful Days').
Richard Boys, Devon
"It was fantastic. We have had a very, very difficult year 6 this year and yet they were incredibly motivated to learn the songs and perform the play. Many parents said it was the best they had seen. I really enjoyed using the script. Thanks - keep up the good work."
Nicola Peck, Surrey
"Unfortunately, on the first night we had a power cut ten minutes into the production, but the songs were so well written that the children were able to carry on regardless without the music. Luckily the second night was a complete success - we kept the second night strictly for parents and families of the children performing, and the feedback has been fantastic. Our new school hall was finished in May, so this was our first ever leaver's production - it will be hard to follow next year, but we have already bought School Daze ready for the event! The Wonderful Days song was a real tear-jerker. Thank you so much, it has made our year (and I've lost count of the number of people who have told me this is the first ever Y6 group not to get "post SATs attitude" as they had the play to work on.)"
Tracy Lucas - Chorley
"Thought you might be interested to know that our summer show was a huge success. It went down really well with children, teachers and parents. Something for everyone was the key I think, and a very funny script."
Susan White - Bucks
May I say what a cracking script it was. The staff were in stitches. The children thoroughly enjoyed the play and loved the music. May I take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to the writer Andrew Oxspring for penning a truly brilliant script!"
Pam Callear - Derbyshire
"I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed Troy Story this term. We just loved everything about it. The music pounded out throughout the term during lunch hours and any time we set to work making paper maché shields for the production. The humour and richness of the language gave us much to discuss, and some of the writing that came from it was amazing. Thank you!
Lindy Blyth, New Zealand
"I think it's a really excellent piece of work - lively, fun, witty and full of opportunities for the kids. Andrew has certainly shown that there needn't be anything dull about the study of history. I really enjoyed the variety of the songs and the range of musical styles included. In particular I could imagine the kids having great fun with 'Bunch of Losers' and 'Chop Chop Brother'; but all the songs offer plenty of opportunity for fun and interplay between the various performers."
Andrew Barnes, Editor, BBC School Radio
"Never had such a positive response to an end of year show. Everyone loved it, staff, parents and especially the kids! It was sheer genius, the script and songs were hysterical. Please, please, please hurry and write another show as I'm in year 6 again next year and can't think how I'm going to follow the success of this year without your help!"
Kay Friend, Dagenham
“Thank you for an outstanding product which has inspired and enthused my class.”
D Stubbs - Oldham
“Well we've just performed Mr Humbug Sees The Light and what a marvelous play it was! The children thoroughly enjoyed ALL the rehearsals and the songs have been buzzing around school in everyone's lessons ..... a sure sign of success! Three years ago we produced "School Daze" which was the best play I've ever been responsible for. However, Humbug easily equals the brilliance of School Daze. Keep up the musical productions please!”
Anthea Best, Halesowen
“Thank you! The best ever production in the bag. Great script and songs. The staff and children love them.”
Pat Latimer – Nottingham
“We have just finished Snow White. Have been blown away by the awesome feedback. Definitely the best show I have ever been involved in. Thank you so much for the great script.”
Eileen Hansen- Te Puke, New Zealand
“What more can I say? The quality of all your productions exceeds my expectations! The Year 6 absolutely loved performing Toy Day as they could see themselves in every scene. The parents loved the Conker scene...so many of them recognised themselves as the scatty mum! As a teacher leaving my school after 9 very happy years, I was bowled over by how much the writer understood what goes through the minds of Year 6 children and the teachers who get to know them over the years. I am moving on to Headship and will certainly be encouraging my staff to give you a ring and request both Troy Story and Toy Day. Many thanks again.”
Gary Tucker Painswick
“Dear Edgy Productions, I have to write and say how well Wotta Lotta Bother went. I have put on all of your leavers' shows and they have all been great. I don't know where you get all your ideas from. The adults watching were in fits. The infant scene produced out loud laughter from the children just in the first read through! What a brilliant idea - it connected so well with the kids. The end song was great - all the mums had their hankies out! So well done again - we did Mr Humbug Sees the Light at Xmas which was also a huge success. I look forward to your next show.”
Ray Parkins, Devon
“A fantastic production - it is one of the first I have used from your company but it certainly won't be the last. Everyone really enjoyed it, especially as you could adapt the script so easily to accommodate your school and the characters in it. I only had 15 year 6s - so they doubled up the parts and with 18 year 5 to help sing the songs - it was a very memorable afternoon for all. Most of the parents were in tears and the year 5 are already begging me to find a leaver's production as good as last year. Thank you and keep up the good work.”
Miss Claire Bloomfield, Lancashire
