Q: What formats can I buy my musical in?
Our musicals come in 3 different formats*:
Booklet & audio CD

Traditional ring bound book including the full script, all lyrics & piano score. Your audio CD contains vocal & backing tracks, sound effects & continuity music.

Digital CD ROM

Two discs – the script, piano score & lyrics in editable Word documents & PDF files on disc 1, and the audio files including vocal, backing tracks, continuity music & sound effects on disc 2.
Because of the digital format of this product, unfortunately no refund can be given if the seal is broken, unless the item is faulty. Please see our returns policy for more information.

Digital Download

If you are short of time and can’t wait for the post, especially if you are overseas, then our Digital Download is for you. All of the above emailed to you as a link to download to your computer in a jiffy! *Not all titles are available as downloads yet, but we are adding them as quickly as we can! All downloads must be paid for at the point of ordering from our website. Due to the nature of this product unfortunately no refund can be given.

Q: I’m having trouble accessing my download files – what can I do?

Please bear in mind the downloads comprise large zip files, which do take a few minutes to download depending on your internet connection. If you have slow or limited internet connection, you may find you have to wait a bit longer before completion. Also, some school servers have firewalls and other ‘protection’ which may limit your ability to download such zip files- if this appears to be the case, check with your ICT administrator.

Please contact us if you have any trouble whatsoever downloading, and we will get you sorted asap!

Q: Can I share my Digital Download or CD ROM?

Yes you can, but only to staff and children within the purchasing establishment. You may not make content available on any site or portal that can be accessed by individuals or groups outside your establishment.

Q: Can the song lyrics or the music scores be photocopied or reproduced?

Provided you have purchased a performance licence from us, you can copy the song lyric sheets provided in each musical or songbook.

Q: Are inspection or on-approval copies available?

Unfortunately we are no longer able to offer this service.

Q: Can we alter/edit the music or the scripts?

The scripts can easily be adapted and personalised to suit your school – you do not need to obtain permission from Edgy Productions to make minor changes to the scripts & lyrics.

Q: Do I need a performance licence?

If you are using our music for school assemblies or to use in the classroom where you have not invited members of the public (ie. parents), and you do not make photocopies of any text (including script, lyrics, notes and score) you do not need a licence from us.

If you are performing any part of the drama or narrative to parents or anyone other than staff or pupils from your school, or you wish to make copies of the text (including script, lyrics, notes and score) then you MUST obtain a licence from Edgy Productions. Licences from your local authority, PRS, CCLI or other similar blanket licences DO NOT cover you to perform our musicals. The money from these licences is classed as “Royalties” and is used to pay the composers, authors and lyricists of the works being performed.

A performance licence from Edgy Productions is required by customers world wide, not just in the UK.

We include a licence form with all of our musicals to make it easy for you to fill out and send back to us.

Q: If we intend to charge parents for tickets to our production, what do we do?

We no longer charge you a commission on your ticket sales, but we do require that you buy the correct licence that allows you to sell tickets or charge an admission fee to your performances. You’ll see this as an option to select when you purchase a production pack or download.

Q: Can we film/make recordings of our performances?

Sound or video recording is permitted, however the school or organisation (ie. outside video companies) wishing to record the performance must obtain a licence to do so. This licence, only available directly from Edgy Productions, also permits you to make and distribute/sell copies of the recording. You can add a recording & duplication licence to your order when purchasing a production pack or download

For all of your licensing questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We understand that it is a bit of a minefield and we want to make sure that you have the right licence for you and your school.

Q: How quickly will my order be dispatched?

We aim to process your order on the same day that we receive it, however, during our busy periods (May-June & Sep-Nov) it might take a little longer. If it is going to be any longer than three or four days, we will get in touch to let you know.

All UK orders are sent using Royal Mail 2nd class post which can take between two to three working days to reach you after we have posted your order out to you.
Orders to Europe and Rest of the World are delivered using the standard airmail service. The time taken for delivery will depend on the destination and the delivery service within that country.

Q: Do you have a returns policy?

Cancellation and/or refund on orders of printed books are accepted only if received within 7 working days of delivery. However, we regret that for copyright reasons we cannot accept returns of CD ROM products (if the seal in broken) and/or digital downloads & song downloads. This is due to the nature of the product.
Please inform us in writing of your intention to cancel your order and then return the goods to us. We regret we are unable to refund the cost of postage and cannot accept responsibility for goods lost in transit from you to us. You are advised to return the goods using recorded delivery. Upon receipt of your returned goods within 7 days (or within 30 days if you have informed us of your intention to cancel your order within 7 working days of receipt of the goods), you will either be entitled to a full refund if you have already made payment, or your outstanding invoice will be cancelled if you have not made payment.
If a CD appears to be faulty, please return just the CD to us, detailing the fault, and we will issue a replacement. CDs should be returned to Edgy Productions by recorded delivery.

Q: How can I pay for my order?

Website – Payments made at the time of ordering can be made by debit or credit card, or by paypal, securely on our website. Unfortunately we cannot take card payments over the telephone. Where an invoice has been issued, or you are sending payment with your order, we accept payments by:

BACS – Please see your invoice for our BACS details.

Cheques (Pounds Sterling ONLY) made payable to ‘Edgy Productions Ltd’ and sent to: Edgy Productions Ltd, 8 Roman Way, Market Harborough, Leicestershire, LE16 7PQ. Please quote your invoice number on the back of the cheque.

Q: Do you supply music to private customers as well as schools?

Yes, we supply our music to private customers. We do require payment with each order.

Q: Are Edgy Productions products available internationally?

Yes, we ship our music to schools, pre-schools, churches and private customers around the world.

Q: Is VAT charged?

UK and EU customers: VAT at standard rate (20%) will be charged on CD ROM packs, Digital Downloads, performance licences, replacement CDs and rehearsal CDs.

If you are based in the European Union (EU) VAT area, and have an EU VAT number for VAT exemption, please submit it at checkout where directed.

Other regions: We do not apply sales tax to goods supplied from the UK to countries outside the EU.

Q: Are schools exempt from VAT?

Although UK schools are ‘exempt’ from VAT it is a legal requirement for suppliers to charge VAT on goods supplied to schools. It is the responsibility of the schools to claim back the VAT from HM Customs & Excise.

Q: Can I buy CDs separately?

CDs are sold together with our musicals and songbooks as a package. However if your CD is missing or damaged we will be happy to provide a replacement immediately – please telephone our customer services team on 01858 288081.

Alternatively we do supply rehearsal CDs to accompany our musicals – please visit the product pages on our website see these options.

Q: I have written my own musical, can I submit it for review?

Yes! We are always looking for new writers, however we cannot accept unsolicited material. Please email info@edgyproductions.com to request our submission details.
