Performance Licences
To be fully covered if copying and performing any part of a production, you will need one of the following licences from us. Read the licence details, decide which licence applies to you, then complete the form below.
Licence 1: Private Performance Licence
Performance of songs only within school to children and staff (not parents & guests) without photocopying the lyrics. NO FEE FOR LICENCE.
Licence details
- For performances to staff and children only (no parents etc.) e.g. you might want to perform some of the songs in assembly.
- Performances within school only. This licence does NOT allow schools to perform the musical or play to outside audiences (where members of the audience include people other than staff and children of the school). A Performance Rights Society (PRS) licence is required if a school wishes to perform the SONGS ONLY where the audience is comprised of people other than staff and children. A licence from Edgy Productions Ltd (the publishers) is required to perform any part of a production involving drama and narrative.
- You can make handwritten copies of the script for rehearsal purposes.
- No photocopying or other forms of duplication of the script is permitted.
- No fee for this licence.
Licence 2: Public Performance Licence
No admission charge made to audience.
Price of licence £25.00 (+ VAT), discounted £20.00 (+ VAT) if within 14 days of purchasing production.
Licence details
- Permission to photocopy the script for use within school.
- Up to 5 public performances permitted, e.g. to parents.
- No admission fee can be charged to your audience.
- £25.00 fee for this licence.
This licence does not allow performances in commercial establishments such as theatres. It is intended for performances in school where the public audience comprises parents, relatives and friends of the children putting on the show. For commercial licences please contact us.
Licence 3 - Public Performance Licence
Admission charge made to audience.
Price of licence £25.00 (+ VAT) + 10% of takings, discounted £20.00 (+ VAT) + 10% of takings if within 14 days of purchasing production
Licence details
- Permission to photocopy the script for use within school.
- Up to 5 public performances permitted within school, e.g. to parents.
- Admission fee may be charged by the school.
- 10% of takings are payable to Edgy Productions within 28 days of the last performance date stated on the licence.
- £25.00 fee for this licence.
